Abstract

The article emphasizes the importance of the digital economy in the step-by-step transition to a completely new level of the use of information technologies in all aspects of industrial and social life. The current state of the digital economy in the Republic of Uzbekistan is analyzed in comparison to the world’s leading countries in this field. The role of human capital in the formation of the digital economy is revealed by justifying the fact that the development of organizations during the transition to the digital economy is inextricably linked to the ability to effectively manage human capital. The main achievements of the digital economy development program in the Republic of Uzbekistan, along with the expected outcomes of its implementation, are presented. The “Human Capital and Education” program highlights qualitative growth, improved living standards, and the potential for elevating the country’s development to a new level. The tasks of educational institutions within the framework of training personnel for the digital economy are described. Key factors for developing innovative activities, modern information systems, and the knowledge economy in Uzbekistan are highlighted. General challenges in implementing the digital economy and approaches to their minimization are discussed. Recommendations for successfully implementing innovative programs for the development of the digital economy in Uzbekistan are provided.
