Abstract

This article examines the mechanisms through which digital transformation affects regional economic development and develops criteria for assessing its effectiveness. The study provides a systematic analysis of the impact of digitalization on regional economic growth, labor productivity, innovation activity, investment attractiveness, the business environment, and living standards. Particular attention is paid to the role of digital infrastructure, the adoption of information and communication technologies, digital public services, and digital skills in promoting regional development. The article proposes a set of economic, technological, social, and institutional criteria for evaluating the effectiveness of digital transformation and substantiates the importance of reducing digital disparities between regions. The empirical analysis is based on 2020-2025 data for the districts of Namangan region. The findings provide a basis for improving regional economic policy, developing digital infrastructure, and strengthening the digital competitiveness of regions. Practical recommendations are proposed to enhance the contribution of digital transformation to sustainable and inclusive regional economic development.
