Abstract

The article empirically examines the role of digital infrastructure and human capital in shaping regional economic efficiency in agglomerations on the basis of panel data. It assesses the effect of digital infrastructure on economic activity through internet coverage, digital services and information and communication technologies, as well as the role of human capital in raising labour productivity and innovation potential. Using econometric models on regional and time-series data, the study identifies the main factors that increase agglomeration efficiency and develops scientific and practical proposals. The empirical analysis was based on official statistical data for Namangan region and its 12 cities and districts over 2017-2025. The results showed that industrial output in the region grew almost 6.9-fold in 2017-2024, while economic activity was concentrated in Namangan city and the Turakurgan and Chust districts. Based on a composite assessment of the territories, a “core - secondary centres - peripheral areas” model was proposed.
