Abstract

Abstract
The article analyzes the impact of the competitive environment and institutional
factors on the development of small and medium-sized enterprises in Uzbekistan.
Based on the contribution of SMEs to GDP, employment, and exports, their role in the
national economy is assessed. The results of ongoing reforms aimed at improving the
business climate, liberalizing regulation, and expanding market mechanisms are
examined. International rankings and comparative indicators demonstrate positive
dynamics in institutional transformation and the strengthening of the entrepreneurial
environment. It is substantiated that further enhancement of competition, broader access to financial resources, and improvement of antimonopoly regulation create
sustainable conditions for the growth and competitiveness of small businesses.
