Abstract

The article theoretically and econometrically examines the mediating mechanisms of the processing industry in the impact of agricultural production efficiency on regional economic growth. It substantiates the economic linkages between agricultural resource productivity, industrial cooperation and regional value added. A methodological approach based on integrating panel regression and mediation analysis models is proposed to identify the mediating effect of the processing industry. The article highlights the possibilities of distinguishing the direct and indirect effects of agricultural efficiency on regional economic growth, assessing the economic performance of production chains and identifying priority directions for developing regional agro-industrial integration. Statistical analysis showed that in 2016-2024 the country’s agricultural output grew 3.81-fold, and in 2016-2025 gross domestic product increased 6.37-fold. A nine-indicator model assessing the direct, indirect and total effects and the mediation share, together with a cluster bootstrap test, was proposed.
