Abstract

This paper examines the innovative financing mechanisms that are driving the shift toward a circular economy in agriculture, drawing on recent international research and documented practice. The analysis synthesizes findings from the European Environment Agency (EEA), the United Nations Environment Programme Finance Initiative (UNEP FI) and the Global Alliance on Circular Economy and Resource Efficiency (GACERE), together with peer-reviewed studies published in international journals. The evidence suggests that green bonds, blended finance, sustainability-linked loans and public-private partnerships are among the most effective instruments for scaling circular practices in the sector, although a substantial global financing gap persists. The paper closes with a set of recommendations for adapting this experience to agriculture in Uzbekistan.
