Abstract

The article examines the organizational and economic directions for developing quality management systems to increase the competitiveness of fruit and vegetable products in domestic and foreign markets. The importance of vertical and horizontal integration is substantiated along the value chain, from growing the produce to its harvesting, sorting, storage, processing, packaging, transportation and delivery to the final consumer. The study shows the need to coordinate relations between agroclusters, cooperatives, farms and dehkan households, agro-logistics centres, processing enterprises and exporters on the basis of quality and food safety standards. The possibilities of introducing the GLOBALG.A.P., Organic, ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 22000, HACCP and BRCGS standards at the relevant stages of the supply chain are described. It is argued that the integrated application of quality management systems helps to reduce product losses, ensure traceability, remove technical barriers to entering export markets and strengthen the reputation of “Grown in Uzbekistan” products in international markets. As a result, scientific and practical proposals are developed for an integrated quality management system based on the “farm to fork” principle.
