Abstract

The article examined universitiesʼ role in regional bioeconomy development through Bukhara State Universityʼs Green Economy and Business Department. The study covered staffing, four educational programmes and departmental strategic documents. Case study, content analysis and SWOT analysis were applied. Staff holding scientific degrees accounted for 54.5%, while green and bioeconomy subjects represented 52.3% of the 65 courses examined. A conceptual model linking education, research and innovation was developed. Priorities were identified for staff development, programme expansion and cooperation with local enterprises. Planned indicators for 2026-2030 were systematised, and practical proposals were formulated to strengthen the departmentʼs contribution to sustainable regional development.
