Abstract

The article examined the methodological foundations for evaluating investment projects that introduce renewable energy in the textile industry. The author synthesised discounted cash flow theory, the cost of capital and the risk-adjusted discount rate, and substantiated the energy profile of spinning, weaving and dyeing as a criterion for choosing the project type. For a rooftop solar photovoltaic plant of a textile enterprise, the net present value, profitability index, discounted payback and break-even tariff were calculated for four discount rates and two tariff scenarios. Under the standard tariff the internal rate of return reached 18.2 percent, and the break-even tariff rose from 579 to 1,091 soums as the rate increased from 7.5 to 18 percent. A conceptual model combining financial, technical and environmental criteria was developed, and recommendations were proposed. The results provide a methodological basis for prioritising renewable energy projects in the investment programmes of textile enterprises.
