Abstract

The article theoretically examines the potential of efficient biomass utilization to reduce interregional economic disparities. Systematic, comparative, and structural analyses, along with a value chain approach, were applied. Data on agricultural products, waste, and planned energy projects were synthesized. A regional value chain model was developed to integrate biomass collection, transportation, processing, and local consumption. An assessment model incorporating energy production, byproducts, employment, and cost savings was proposed. Key directions for resource mapping, the development of cooperation, and support for biogas projects were identified. The proposed measures were assessed in terms of their potential to contribute to regional development.
