Abstract
The article analyses the role of water-saving technologies in climate change adaptation and in maintaining ecological balance in Uzbekistan. Drip and sprinkler irrigation, laser land levelling, soil moisture sensors, remote sensing and digital management solutions are reviewed. Using statistical data from open sources, the pressure on water resources, the growth of technology coverage and future risks are presented in charts. Comparative analysis, descriptive visualisation and a conditional scenario approach were applied. Coverage increased from 19 thousand hectares in 2017 to 2.6 million hectares in 2025, while agriculture accounts for about 90% of water withdrawals. The study argues that the coverage indicator does not equal actual water savings. The results show the need to combine technical tools with water accounting, maintenance services, ecological monitoring and farmersʼ skills. A six-stage “smart water management” model and practical recommendations were developed. Keywords
